My name is Jenny Swartout and this will be my 19th year teaching at Faithful Shepherd and 18th overall! I graduated from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in pre-primary. I started my career in St. Paul, teaching four and five-year-olds at Country Day Preschool. Following teaching preschool, I joined the staff at Faithful Shepherd and have taught technology, second grade, kindergarten, enrichment, fourth grade, and now fifth grade.
Besides teaching, I have an amazing family. My husband Jake is a police officer and my son (Brenden) is fourteen years old and is a freshman at the Academy of Holy Angels. We currently live in Burnsville. Along with spending time with my family, I enjoy coaching basketball and knitting. I continued my educational journey by obtaining my graduate certification in the Gifted and Talented program through St. Thomas’ Murray Institute. This past summer I received my Master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in Education with a concentration in Reading.
My belief is education is that education is an ever-changing lifelong process and people need to view themselves as lifelong learners. I love to teach at Faithful Shepherd because of the faith that is lived and shared throughout our community. Feel free to email me with questions.
Blessings,
Mrs. Jenny Swartout
