Mission Statement

Faithful Shepherd Catholic School strives to create an athletics and activities program that emphasizes participation, fun, a sense of community, and using our gifts and talents to praise God.  Our overall program is designed to create success for FSCS students on and off the playing field, by instilling and teaching such values as leadership, teamwork, communication, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

Athlete Expectations

Student athletes at Faithful Shepherd hold a commitment of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Student athletes are expected to hold themselves to a high standard in the classroom as well as in athletic competition.  

Parent involvement and expectations

Faithful Shepherd parents hold a commitment to respect, leadership, and sportsmanship.  Parents are expected to lead by example in holding up the values and mission of Faithful Shepherd Catholic School.

Coaching Opportunities

Each sports season and sports team allows for parental involvement either as a spectator or an individual that would like to be more involved as a team parent, head coach, or assistant coach.  If parents are interested in any level of involvement please communicate with the Faithful Shepherd’s Athletic Director.

  • Registration: $120
  • SEASON September through October
  • Grades 5-8
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
  • 1 game per week
    • Saturday games are likely
  • Season completed with end of season playoff tournament

Hockey

  • Grades: 5-8
  • No Practices unless otherwise scheduled
  • 1 game per week
    • Games usually outdoor
  • Season completed with an end of season playoff tournament
    • Championship held on a weeknight

Swimming ~ open to grades K-8

  • Season Timeline: Mid January-Beginning of April
  • Registration Dates: October 1st-November 15th
  • Registration: $200
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
    • Practices held off campus at available pool
  • 3-5 meets throughout the winter months
    • Meets always held on weekend
  • End of season Catholic Athletic Association Meet
    • Held at the University of Minnesota
    • Event held at the beginning of April

Spring Sports

Softball

  • Season Timeline: Mid April-Beginning of June
  • Registration Dates: January 1st-March 1st
  • Registration: $120
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
    • Practices determined by gym or field availability
  • 1-2 games per week
    • Possibly more games in a week depending on weather
    • No games on weekends
    • Home games will not be played at FSCS
  • Season completed with an end of season playoff tournament

Baseball

  • Season Timeline: Mid April-Beginning of June
  • Registration Dates: January 1st-March 1st
  • Registration: $120
  • Practice 102 times per week
    • Practices determined by gym or field availability
  • 1-2 games per week
    • Possibly more games in a week depending on weather
    • No games on weekends
    • Depending on age group home games may be played at FSCS
  • Season completed with an end of season playoff tournament

Track and Field

  • Season Timeline: Beginning of April-Mid May
  • Registration Dates: January 1st-March 1st
  • Registration: $75
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
    • Practices are held right after school
  • Multiple meets throughout the spring
    • Meets held on weeknights
  • Season culminates with an end of season Catholic Athletic Association meet held at St. Thomas Academy.
    • Meet held on Saturday in mid April
