My name is April Kirby and this is my twelfth year teaching at Faithful Shepherd! I teach Middle School STEM and will be providing support to our K-5 teachers who are adding new STEM modules to their classrooms this year. Additionally, this year I am also teaching one section each of 7th grade Pre-Algebra and 7th grade ELA.
I earned my degree in Elementary Education from St. Mary’s University in Winona. My certifications are in K-6 Elementary Education, 5-8 Communication Arts, and 5-8 Math. I am also certified by Project Lead the Way to teach our STEM courses. In addition to teaching, I also have backgrounds in coaching and fitness.
My husband, J.J., and I have four children, three of which are at Faithful Shepherd! Kieran is in 4th grade, Sean is in 2nd, Patrick is in preschool, and Jack will be three in November. Our kids keep us very busy and we love every minute of it!
I am fortunate to be able to experience Faithful Shepherd as a teacher and a parent. As a teacher, I am blessed to work with highly skilled, caring, and faith-filled educators. As a parent, my children are blessed to be taught by the best!
I’m looking forward to another great year at Faithful Shepherd!
