6th Math Advanced

This course is to help students master the concepts, skills and reasoning strategies in the 6th Grade math I Cans. Math skills from elementary will be used to establish a foundation for problem-solving, number theory, applications with fractions, decimals and whole numbers, geometry, algebraic expressions, solving equations and probability.

The curriculum moves at an accelerated pace. Students will need a math score of 90% or higher on MAP math and a reading score of 90% or higher on reading, and a Final Math score of 85% or higher. Students must maintain a B or better at the end of each trimester in order to remain in the class

This course is intended for an above-average serious student who is motivated, responsible and able to learn at a fast pace. This is the same course as 6th Math, but moves faster and covers material in more depth with emphasis on problem solving and concept mastery.
