Hi, I’m Peggy Hirsch and I teach 3rd grade at Faithful Shepherd. Third graders have such an excitement and enthusiasm for learning. I see my role as encouraging them and guiding them to become independent learners so they can reach their full potential. Whether it’s hearing their excitement over learning cursive writing (wow, I can read these words now!) or helping them overcome their fear of multiplication facts, third grade is a great grade to teach.
I have been in education for 21 years. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education and Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas. This is my 17th year full time in 3rd grade at Faithful Shepherd. However, I have been involved with the school since before it even opened its doors. I believe a Catholic education is important and I participated on committees working to bring a Catholic school (Faithful Shepherd!) south of the river. I enjoy working in a Catholic school where I can live out my faith and share the joy of its teachings with my students. When I am not teaching, I spend time with my family. My husband and I have two children who are graduates of Faithful Shepherd. We enjoy walking, biking, playing games, cross country skiing, and going on family trips.
