Faithful Shepherd provides individual support of student success uniquely for each student, setting target goals and differentiating learning experiences to best meet academics and personal growth. We provide that support in specific subject areas by offering extra time and skills to achieve their success. Additionally, our middle school teachers also provide academic support to middle school students who are struggling. Our entire faculty will work together as a team to improve their learning capabilities.
Students are offered individualized learning opportunities that help them learn and grow at the pace that is right for them.
At every age, Faithful Shepherd knows that educating and caring for your child goes beyond academics. FSCS has partnered with Phoenix School Counseling to provide counseling services to our students.
Our counselor offers individual and small group support for students who may be struggling in a variety of areas including anxiety, depression, life changes, grief, self-esteem, friendship, impulse control, anger management, study skills, and social skills needs. She supports classroom teaching through regular character education in K-8 classrooms to provide relatable and practical lessons on topics such as responsibility, healthy choices, perseverance, and citizenship. Through the gifts of faith, our faculty provides the support students deserve as they navigate the rigorous challenges of youth and adolescence.
My name is Lauren Lauermann, and this is my first year working as a school
counselor at Faithful Shepherd.
I am originally from Sartell, Minnesota and I completed my undergraduate degree at
North Dakota State University with a major in Human Development and Family Science
and a minor in Psychology.
I then went on to obtain my master’s degree at Moorhead State University for School
Counseling. I wanted to become a school counselor because I love getting to know
students and helping them acquire the social emotional skills they need to be successful.
I also love being a part of such an important and rewarding profession where I can help
students identify their abilities and interests while also supporting them in academics.
I am so thankful to be a part of the Faithful Shepherd community and truly believe it
was God’s calling to teach and guide students as the school counselor. Everyone has
already been so welcoming to me as I embark on my first counseling position, and I look
forward to a great year!
In my free time, I enjoy going on fall walks, doing yoga, and making crafts. I absolutely
love to travel, and I have been out of the country a few times (England, France, Haiti,
Jamaica, Mexico). I am very family oriented and cherish the time I get to spend with
family.
District 196 and an educational consultant partner with us to provide resources or services to meet students’ unique gifts and needs, ensuring the every student gets the best education possible.
