Hello! My name is Mr. Brones, and I am the general music specialist at Faithful Shepherd Catholic School. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching, K-12 license in music, a BA in Music with an emphasis on guitar, and minors in Pop Music and Recording Arts from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. I joined the Faithful Shepherd team in the fall of 2016. Prior to joining Faithful Shepherd, I taught private music lessons throughout the Twin Cities metro area, performed solo and with local groups in various musical styles, and have worked in a variety of recording studio settings.
My musical background is rooted in creating music through songwriting. Teaching at Faithful Shepherd Catholic School gives me the opportunity to share my passion and love of music with students. I teach them to sing and play instruments, create and improvise, listen and evaluate, read and notate music, and to learn about history and culture through music. Below is an article from the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), in which they present 20 important benefits of music education in our schools.
