News from the School Counselor

Happy October! I have been busy getting into classrooms, and getting to know all your wonderful students.  We have talked about What is a School Counselor, Whole Body Listening, and even played Masked Emotion Bingo!  This month we will continue with our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programming, and cover topics like Growth Mindset and Goal Setting.  In addition, I hope to be starting some very small groups including: Superflex (a Social Thinking Curriculum), Friendship/New Students, Worries/Anxiety, and Summer Events.

I also would like to share with you an opportunity for a virtual parent education conference put together by NAMI Minnesota and TriDistrict Community Education, covering a variety of topics such as: Special Education, Understanding the Children’s Mental Health System, Transitions, Wellness, Self Care, and much more!  Please see attached flyer for more details and how to register.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can help with! A reminder that I am at Faithful Shepherd every Monday and Wednesday (except the 3rd Wednesday of each month) from 7:30a-2:30p.
